AI HUSTLE REMOTE | SEPTEMBER 16th 2025

You're a hustler, which means you're always looking for the next opportunity, the emerging trend, or that crucial insight into what your customers really want. But how do the big players stay so sharp? They have teams dedicated to market research, competitor analysis, and trend spotting.

You don't need a team. This week, we're going to build your own personal AI Market Research Agent. Using simple automation tools and AI, you can automatically monitor key sources, summarize competitor moves, and spot emerging trends – all while you focus on building your business.

These Are The Skills That Could Actually Build You Wealth

“Almost no one in the history of the Forbes list has gotten there with a salary. You get rich by owning things.” – Sam Altman

The future he’s building won’t reward budgeting hacks… It’ll reward ownership.

That’s why we created Main Street Millionaire Live, a 3-day virtual event designed to teach the “ownership stack”:

  • Sept. 19th: Deal Sourcing

  • Sept. 20th: Financing & Negotiation

  • Sept. 21st: Ownership & Scaling

Whether you’re in a W-2, looking to buy your first business, or already own one, this event gives you the tools, tactics, and network to accelerate your path (at a very low cost). Plus, you’ll get $1k+ worth of digital products, just for showing up.

Most people coast into the end of the year. Owners play offense. The only question is: how will you spend yours?

The Hustle: Your AI Market Research & Trend Spotting Agent

The Goal: To automatically gather, summarize, and highlight key market insights, competitor activities, and emerging trends from various online sources, delivered to you in a digestible format.

The Tools:

  • Automation Platform: Make.com or n8n (your choice, both work great)

  • AI Model: OpenAI's API (using a GPT-4 or Claude 3 model for nuanced analysis)

  • Information Sources: RSS Feeds (for blogs, news), Specific URLs (for competitor pages), Reddit/X (for community sentiment via APIs or basic scraping).

  • Destination: A Google Sheet, Notion database, or even a daily/weekly email summary.

Here’s the 4-step workflow to build your agent:

Step 1: The "Eyes & Ears" – Identify Your Data Sources

First, your agent needs to know where to look. Think about where your target audience hangs out, where your competitors publish, and where industry news breaks.

  • For News/Blogs: Collect RSS feed URLs from industry blogs, news sites, or even specific search result feeds (e.g., Google News for "[Your Niche] trends").

  • For Competitors: List competitor blog URLs, press release pages, or even their product update pages. You might use a simple web scraper module in Make/n8n for non-RSS pages (or just manually paste content from a few key pages weekly if you're just starting).

  • For Community Sentiment: Identify relevant subreddits (e.g., r/smallbusiness, r/Entrepreneur), Twitter accounts, or forums. (Note: Accessing full social media data via APIs can be complex, so start with public RSS feeds or manual content input from key posts).

Step 2: The "Data Gatherer" – Ingest the Information

In your automation platform (Make.com or n8n), you'll set up modules to pull this information regularly.

  • Use RSS Feed Reader modules for blogs and news.

  • For specific web pages, you could use a HTTP Request module followed by a HTML Extractor module (if comfortable with a bit more tech) or simply manually copy-paste content into a Google Sheet or Tally form as a trigger.

  • Schedule these modules to run daily or weekly, pulling new content as it appears.

Step 3: The "AI Analyst" – Summarize & Extract Insights

This is where the magic happens. Your AI model will read through the raw information and extract precisely what you need. You'll add an OpenAI Chat Model node (or Claude) after each data source.

  • Prompt for News/Trends (Summarize & Spot):

‘You are an expert market analyst for [Your Niche, e.g., "e-commerce stores selling sustainable goods"]. I am providing you with content from a news source. Your task is to: 1. Summarize the main points in 2-3 sentences. 2. Identify any emerging trends or shifts relevant to [Your Niche]. 3. Highlight any potential opportunities or threats for a small business in this space. Format your output clearly with headings.’

  • Prompt for Competitors (Spy & Learn):

‘You are a competitive intelligence expert. I have provided new content (e.g., blog post, product update) from a competitor, [Competitor Name]. Your task is to: 1. Briefly summarize their update/content. 2. Identify any new strategies, products, or marketing angles they are testing. 3. Suggest how a small business could adapt or respond to this competitor's move.’

Step 4: The "Report Generator" – Deliver Your Insights

Finally, your agent will compile all the analyzed information and present it to you.

  • Collect the outputs from all your "AI Analyst" nodes.

  • Use a Google Sheets module to append a new row with date, source, summary, trends, and suggested actions.

  • Optional: Add a final OpenAI Chat Model node to create a concise "Daily/Weekly AI Market Brief" from all the compiled summaries, then use an Email module to send it to yourself.

Why This Hustle Works:

  • Saves Hundreds of Hours: Stop manually sifting through news feeds, blogs, and competitor sites. Your AI does the heavy lifting.

  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Spot emerging trends and adapt your strategy before your competitors do.

  • Data-Driven Decisions: Move from guesswork to insights, making smarter choices about your products, services, and marketing.

  • Actionable Intelligence: The AI doesn't just summarize; it helps you interpret what it means for your business.

This agent turns you into a market intelligence powerhouse, giving you insights usually reserved for companies with large research budgets. Now, what kind of news items do you have for "The AI Pulse" this week?

🚀 The AI Pulse: 3 Signals to Watch This Week

  • Botnet Chaos: When Fighting Crime Frees Up New Threats. The FBI successfully took down a massive criminal botnet, but this action had an unintended consequence: it inadvertently freed up millions of devices for new botnet operators to seize. A rival botnet quickly took control, launching record-breaking attacks and raising serious concerns about widespread internet disruption. The Hustle Take: This is a stark reminder about cybersecurity hygiene in an increasingly automated world. If your side hustle relies on personal devices (old laptops, smart home tech) or you offer services to clients, ensure everything is updated, patched, and secured. Botnets can turn your connected devices into unwitting participants in massive attacks. Also, for anyone building automation that touches user devices or data, "security by design" is non-negotiable – the digital wild west is only getting wilder.

  • Penske Media Sues Google Over AI Summaries. Rolling Stone's publisher, Penske Media, is suing Google, alleging that AI summaries in search results illegally use its content and tank website traffic. This is a major legal challenge, following similar lawsuits against OpenAI and Microsoft from other publishers. The Hustle Take: This legal battle is a huge deal for anyone creating content, especially those building "Content Multiplying Machines" like we discussed. It highlights the crucial importance of ethical AI sourcing and attribution. When you repurpose content (even your own), think about how it's presented and if it genuinely encourages engagement with the original source. The outcome of these lawsuits will likely shape how all content creators and AI tools interact with copyrighted material in the future. Stay tuned – your content strategy may need to adapt.

  • OpenAI's Board Chair: We're in an AI Bubble (and that's OK). Bret Taylor, OpenAI's board chair, echoed Sam Altman's sentiment, stating that we are indeed in an AI bubble, but that this isn't necessarily a bad thing. He compared it to the dot-com boom: many companies failed, but the underlying technology (the internet) still transformed the economy. The Hustle Take: This is permission to both innovate wildly AND be pragmatic. Yes, some AI projects will lose money, but the foundational shift AI brings is real and permanent. For your hustle, this means don't be afraid to experiment, build, and even "fail fast" with AI tools. The skills you gain and the systems you build now will be invaluable, even if the specific tool you're using today isn't around tomorrow. Focus on timeless principles (like automation, efficiency, problem-solving) powered by AI, rather than getting caught up in fleeting hypes.

⚡ The 5-Minute AI Tune-Up

The Goal: Quickly analyze a batch of customer reviews or comments to understand common pain points and what people love (or hate). The Tool: ChatGPT, Claude, or Google Gemini (any free version works) Time to Complete: ~5 Minutes

The Steps:

  1. Gather Your Feedback: Find a set of 5-10 recent customer reviews from a platform like Amazon, Yelp, Google Maps, App Store, or even comments from a social media post about your product/service (or a competitor's). Copy them all into a single block of text.

    • Example: A few diverse reviews for a coffee shop.

  2. Go to your AI tool of choice.

  3. Use This Master Prompt: Copy and paste the prompt below, replacing the bracketed text with your copied feedback.

‘You are an expert customer feedback analyst. I am providing you with a batch of customer reviews/comments. Your task is to: 1. Identify the top 3 most common positive themes/aspects mentioned. 2. Identify the top 3 most common negative themes/pain points mentioned. 3. Suggest one actionable insight or product improvement based on this feedback. Here are the customer reviews/comments: [PASTE YOUR CUSTOMER REVIEWS/COMMENTS HERE] ‘

    • Example Input for the AI (if using coffee shop example):

      • ...Here are the customer reviews/comments: "Loved the latte, but the wait was too long!" "Best croissant in town, but the seating is uncomfortable." "Great atmosphere, but my coffee was cold." "Friendly staff, slow service on weekends." "My favorite place for a quick breakfast, perfect coffee." "Always busy, worth the wait for the avocado toast!"

Why This Works: Reading through dozens of reviews to spot patterns is tedious and time-consuming. This AI tune-up instantly surfaces the core sentiment, giving you immediate, actionable insights into what's working and what needs improvement. In 5 minutes, you can understand your customers better and identify clear areas for your next product update or marketing message.
